About the Role
We are looking for a relational, organized, and passionate leader to serve as our
Discipleship Director. This role is all about helping people feel known, connected, and equipped — from their very first visit to becoming fully engaged, growing disciples of Christ. You'll create and lead a seamless process that welcomes newcomers, connects people into community, and builds pathways for spiritual growth through small groups, classes, and serving opportunities.
This is a shepherding and systems role — part pastoral, part connector, part builder of healthy ministry environments.
Key Responsibilities
Assimilation Leadership
• Lead a welcoming and effective first impressions strategy that helps new
guests feel seen, valued, and connected.
• Develop and manage the processes, communication, and teams needed to
move people from visitor to fully engaged member.
• Recruit, train, and lead the Hospitality/Guest Services & Assimilation teams.
Discipleship Development
• Build a clear, churchwide pathway for spiritual growth (e.g., new believer
classes, next-step classes, small groups, leadership development).
• Oversee the recruitment, training, and support of small group leaders.
• Provide leadership for discipleship groups, Bible studies, and midweek
classes, ensuring alignment with the church’s mission and theology.
• Regularly assess and improve discipleship environments to help people
move from spiritual curiosity to maturity.
Team Leadership and Collaboration
• Work closely with pastoral staff and ministry leaders to integrate
assimilation and discipleship into every area of church life.
• Partner with communications staff to create clear, compelling next steps for
people at every stage of their journey.
• Champion a culture where every person feels seen, supported, and invited to
grow.
What We’re Looking For
• A deep and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a heart for helping
others grow in their faith.
• Strong relational skills — someone who naturally connects with a wide range
of people and helps them feel at home.
• Organizational and systems-building strength — you can build and lead
teams and create clear, simple processes that serve people well.
• A passion for discipleship — you love seeing people move from casual
attendance to passionate, Christ-centered living.
• Collaborative spirit — you enjoy working across ministries and empowering
others to succeed.
Education & Experience
• 3–5 years of leadership experience.
• A strong calling and connection to Crossroads Church, our culture and vision.
• Strong communication, teaching, and leadership skills.
